Watertight sub-roof
The CREATON watertight sub-roof is installed with our QUATTRO sub-roof membrane. This type of sub-roof membrane is a polyester fleece membrane coated with TPU on both sides. This makes it possible to seal the membranes to each other with a hot air gun or alternatively by applying chemical methods using solvent welding agent. As part of the system, the elements are connected to roof flashing and roof closure using the Quattro sub-roof membrane itself, by prefabricated exterior corners or the counter batten cap strip.
The CREATON watertight sub-roof also requires nail seals underneath the counter battens – here we recommend the variant with the CREATON KKS counter batten flashing. However, NDS nail ceiling strips on a butyl basis are also suitable. Thanks to the CREATON watertight sub-roof you will achieve maximum protection within the sub-roof in the CREATON system – for very low roof pitches and where it matters most.
GENERAL NOTES AS PER ZVDH
The specifications relating to sub-roof installations are CREATON manufacturer data, which differs from the specifications of national stipulations (such as ZVDH, ÖNORM or SIA standards). For this reason, we recommend you coordinate procedures and conclude individual agreements between yourselves as the installing roofers and the end customer or owner of the property. This will serve to safeguard the interests of both parties from a contractual point of view as a supplement to the service agreement. Visit www.creaton.de / www.creaton.at / www.creaton.ch for a template of such an individual agreement in the CREATON sample documents for any clay roof tile and concrete roof tile model.
Wasserdichtes Unterdach
The watertight sub-roof variant is a variant compliant with CREATON manufacturer data as it may involve some specifications that deviate from specialist stipulations. We advise to exercise a stricter duty of care during the consultation and installation process. For variants deviating from specialist stipulations there is an obligation to notify the parties involved, going as far as an obligation to conclude individual agreements with building owners.
The variant applies to roofs as per the penultimate row of the national table on the implementation of additional measures on pages 3 and 4, providing an implementation of all notes, specifications and requirements listed in the installation instructions. Any deviation from this is potentially only valid following verification and written approval by CREATON Applications Technology.
